The
LightSources group consists of the world’s leading, most forward thinking and
innovative companies providing lamps and lighting solutions to companies
worldwide. LCD Lighting (LCDL) is known
for high quality, high performing miniature fluorescent lamps. LCDL provides miniature
lamps to a wide variety of manufacturers, OEMs, and has even supplied lamps for
the U.S. space shuttle.
LCDL’s Hot-Cathode Fluorescent
Lamps
LCDL
produces cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFL) and hot cathode
fluorescent lamps (HCFL) to a multitude of companies and OEMs around the
globe. LCDL offers a product line of
HCFL lamps which include tubular lamps available in a wide range of lengths and
diameters.
The
smallest size of HCFL lamps start at T2 which means that T stands for the shape
of the lamp meaning tubular, and the number 2 stands for an eighth of an inch. A size T8 lamp would equal a tubular lamp at
exactly 1 inch in diameter. As LCDL
specializes in miniature lighting, the largest size available is the T12 which
would be a diameter of 1 ½”.
HCFL
lamps by LCD Lighting are used in signs, medical devices, graphic arts, and
backlighting displays in various applications.
LCDL’s Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps
Miniature
CCFL lamps by LCD Lighting are commonly used in various neon signs and bendable
shapes. CCFL lamps contain an electrode,
rather than the filament in the HCFL lamps.
Mini fluorescent lamps are used as backlighting in avionic displays,
computers, vehicles, military applications and even the NASA space shuttle.
Both
CCFL and HCFL lamps contain mercury vapor to enhance the phosphor coating which
creates a very pleasing light. LightSources and LCD Lighting offer a
wide selection of standard mini-lamps and provide custom services to create the
lighting solutions unique to your application.
LightSources
and its affiliated companies – LCD Lighting, Voltarc, LightTech, and Cerlux
