Our Quartz halogen lamps are incandescent lamps enveloped in quartz instead of glass with a filament in the bulb surrounded by a halogen gas which is typically iodine.  Quartz iodine lamps contain a tungsten filament that reacts with the iodine to allow for maximum lumen output without blackening of the bulb.
