Innovative Environmental Technologies and Ecological Solutions

LightSources and our strategic partner, LightTech are world leaders in the manufacturing of quartz germicidal lamps and maintain a large research and development team in order to stay in the forefront of new trends and market demand.  Our R&D division is hard at work developing new environmental technologies and proprietary advanced UV solutions unique to the germicidal industry.

As part of our companies’ mission, we continue to strengthen our leadership role in new, emerging technologies that address the need for effective disinfection, while balancing the need for public safety and environmental protection.  This is why the primary focus of our technologies is to support industries with the innovative tools they need to protect our irreplaceable resources such as clean water and air.

In addition we are proud of the fact that our UV germicidal technology complies with strict local codes and regulations across the globe.  Our UV germicidal lamps are environmentally friendly as well as chemical free, and unlike germicidal chemical treatments, do not contain corrosive materials and disinfection by-products (DBPs).

Our line-up of germicidal products include low pressure, medium pressure and high pressure ultra-violent lamps which will effectively sterilize bacteria, mold, fungi, and viruses without the health hazards associated with the use of harmful chemicals.  Another advantage to our energy-efficient UV lamps is that they are extremely long lasting and do not require a lot of maintenance.  Simple to operate, their compact size makes retrofitting a system to UV germicidal technology easy.

LightSources and LightTech’s ongoing global success is based on our unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction and our cutting-edge methodologies in manufacturing, technology, development and product research.  Our goal is to provide clients with unmatched flexibility and on-time performance with services such as Just-in-time Manufacturing and our Rapid Prototype Program.  See our website to learn more about our UV germicidal lamps as well as other standard and customized lighting solutions.

MPUV Technology for Wastewater and Marine Ballast Water Treatment

LightSources and LightTech expertly design, engineer and manufacture a line of medium pressure ultraviolet (MPUV) lamps in our state-of-the-art facilities using the finest materials available.  These high-quality MPUV lamps are perfect for use in industries such as wastewater disinfection and marine ballast water treatment systems.

Our MPUV lamps provide at least 1,000 hours of life under normal operating conditions and are guaranteed for a period of one year after manufacture for any defects in materials and workmanship.  Since MPUV lamps yield a higher UVC output than low pressure ultraviolet lamps (LPUV), they have the ability to easily handle higher flow rates of water disinfection than LPUV.  Another benefit is they have a compact footprint that makes it easy to retrofit a system with our MPUV lamps.

Furthermore, the lamps produce a polychromatic (emission of multiple wavelengths) output.  The advantage of the polychromatic output is that it is used to promote advanced oxidation processes (AOP’s) and is very effective in reducing and removing micro-pollutants  such as pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, insecticides, etc. in waste water.

Another thing we offer to our clients is the opportunity to fully customize our MPUV lamps to fit your individual specifications and applications needs.  LightSources’ lamps start at 100 watts per inch and go all the way up to as high as 700 watts per inch.  The arc lengths of our MPUV’s range from 2 inches right up to 85 inches.  All of our lamps are manufactured using high-quality, ultra-low water content fused quartz, and contain molybdenum foil within hard quartz capillaries to provide the lamps with a hermetic seal.

Constructed with pure tungsten pin electrodes with an over-wind of throated tungsten, we use an exacting process to pump and fill each lamp with an inert Argon gas to ensure accuracy of the fill pressure and mercury content.  Also our lamps are marked with a serial number that allows us to trace the process from start to finish in regards to production and measurement.  Furthermore, we have an extensive line of metal and ceramic bases suitable for electrical termination and that provide a safe and effective electrical conductivity.

LightSources and our affiliated companies represent the leading high-tech designers and manufacturers in the lamp industry today.  Our team consists of the most highly skilled professionals that specialize in a range of innovative solutions.  Please contact us to learn more about our broad range of standard and custom ultraviolet lamps.

Quick Turnaround Time from Prototype to Finished Product

As a specialty lamp manufacturer, the LightSources group offers a full line of standard and custom-designed lighting solutions for virtually any type of OEM lighting application.  To ensure we are able to meet all individual specifications, our lamps can be customized from everything to shape, color, base, size, and ceramic end caps.

We recognize that for manufacturers and distributors of products such as scanners, computers, aircrafts or medical instruments, it is critical to retain your aftermarket.  To assist in that effort, we provide OEMs across the globe the opportunity to distinguish themselves by creating proprietary products and private brands.

For example, you can customize your products from our wide selection of fluorescent lamps that are available in any lengths, any shape or in any proprietary phosphor blend.  Our standard lamps range from T5, T8, T6, T10, to T12 and we have patented bases and sockets that are designed for clients’ exclusive use.  In addition you can customize your lamps using our large variety of base/socket colors in a range of standard pantone colors or opt for one of our fully customized premium colors.

We have a professional team that is experienced in designing bases/sockets and offer our rapid prototyping service in one week or less.   As prototypes are an important part of a preliminary system design, getting them into the hands of our clients quickly allows us to determine dimensional compatibility between our lamps and your system.  Furthermore, the base/socket design and patenting process does not take as long as you may think.  We have a lot of experience with creating unique base designs as well as dealing with Patent & Trademark offices.  In fact your proprietary project can generally be ready for production in a couple of months.  Please refer to our website for further information.

LightSources and its affiliated companies – LCD Lighting, Voltarc, LightTech, and Cerlux represent the leading high-tech designers and manufacturers in the lamp industry today.  Our products are used world-wide in a multitude of applications and industries such as our avionic display backlighting that is part of the National Defense and US Space Program.
