In-Duct Air Purification Systems Give Health Advantages

There are many health advantages when using in-duct air purification systems, which are common in many settings purifying the air we breathe.   Air duct purification systems are widely used in commercial settings where public visitors may frequent, and the building owner has a responsibility to all occupants regarding the health and safety of the environment.  HVAC air sterilization is common in nursing homes, hospitals, and doctor offices, enhancing the quality of air for all visitors and patients.

UVC Technology Proven Highly Effective and Safe

Ultraviolet (UV) light is widely used in many sterilization and purification applications including air and water, as UV radiation is extremely effective at eradicating bacteria and viruses, even airborne contaminants, without any harmful chemicals or side effects.
When air is exposed to UVC light at 254nanomemter (nm), the UVC light instantly kills harmful organisms, stopping them dead in their tracks from multiplying or reproducing, eliminating any health hazard.   UV purification of air through in-duct UV purification systems can also eliminate unpleasant odors from the air, as odors are caused by contaminants in the air.
UV light is an effective sanitizer, while not contributing to the erosion of your cooling or AC system.  Some ozone emitting purification systems may contribute to the corrosion of equipment, but UVC light will not pose such risks, and provides safe purification with no harmful side effects or drawbacks.

UV Drying Lamps are Fast and Cost Effective

OEM’s around the globe are harnessing the power of UV drying lamps, and are realizing an improvement in process with quality and cycle time, in addition to valuable cost savings with improved efficiency.  There are many industries using UV drying lamps in various industrial production processes worldwide.
UV drying lamps are effective with a very quick drying time when compared to heat drying systems, for curing polymers, inks, varnishes and coatings.  Because UV lamps have such a quick drying time, they produce a more consistent hardened finish with much less shrinkage over heat systems.
This results in a higher level of quality for your products, providing countless benefits with satisfied customers, improved sales and increased customers.
In addition to an improved quality standard, UV drying lamps also provide a significant cost savings over heat or chemical drying methods.  The quick cycle time means more efficient production and higher capacity levels.   Less maintenance, less replacement costs, and a faster cycle time all equate to higher profits for you.
UV Drying Lamps Aid Automotive Industry
Many industrial processes are realizing the benefits of harnessing UV power for quick and effective curing of their parts.  The automotive industry sees a quick return on investment when using UV drying lamps to quickly dry outer coatings of polymers or inks, varnishes, and lacquers on either exterior or interior parts.
Faster Cycle Times
UV curing is a huge timesaver, as several parts can be cured at once, speeding up assembly lines.  With a quick drying time of seconds, they can be touched, handled and packaged in a faster amount of time. Faster cycle times equal more profitable production runs.
Strengthened Parts
This hardened surface not only dries quickly, it is also stronger and more resistant to breaking, warping or chipping.   This is important for parts in critical applications such as braking or air-bag systems.

UV Light Sterilizes Food and Water Safe for Consumption

Ultraviolet (UV) technology is proven highly effective at disinfecting food and water, eradicating all harmful contaminants for safe consumption.  UV light is an approved sterilization method by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), utilized widely in the food and restaurant industry.  UV exposure at the proper wavelength is highly effective and proven safe for removing all bacteria and viruses.
UVC light in the range of 200 nanometer (nm) to 280nm is highly effective at inactivating viruses, while UV radiation at 254nm is the most effective for removing microbial organisms in food and water.   UV germicidal lamps are commonly used to ensure the health of patrons visiting dinner buffets or delis, where you will see UV lights protecting the food below.
UVC germicidal lamps are used to protect food and water, ensuring that the vegetables washed in or coming in contact with water is also clean and safe.  UVC light is approved by the FDA to be effective with all food products, including sea foods, meats and all cooking surfaces.
Consumers realize a great benefit in the confidence that the food they are consuming is safe, and the food and beverage industry realizes a great benefit with cost-efficient germ-killing methods.  Not only are UVC germicidal lamps effective, and cost-efficient as long-lasting bulbs from LightSources provide long life with low maintenance, it is also a very safe method as there is no residual chemical products contaminating your food supply.
