The LightSources’ affiliate, Voltarc,
designs, engineers, and manufactures indoor and outdoor signage as well as the wiring
devices. As the industry’s leader,
Voltarc’s products are available for a wide variety of hot, standard or cold
applications. We create lamps that are
used in signs for branding, exhibiting, retailing and merchandising,
architecture, transportation and infrastructure, industrial applications and warehousing
among others.
As part of the LightSources group
since 2009, the Voltarc team is made up of the top engineers in the field who bring
their expertise to produce custom-designed fluorescent sign lamps, neon tubing,
long lamps, and U-lamps. Our innovative
cup-cathode construction provides an unsurpassed electrical life and our lamps are
an exceptional value with life ratings as high as 60,000 hours. This allows for a far lower cost of operation
over the lifetime than with traditional T12 HO fluorescent sign lamps. Cup-cathode technology is also environmentally
friendly. With extra-long life and easy interchangeability,
our lamps make it easy to customize solutions for a sign-maker’s individual
needs.
Did you know you can save money when
you use Voltarc’s 9-foot and 10-foot lamps?
These extra-long lamps are standard built in every way and can be used
just like any other straight HO lamp. The
benefit lies in the fact that they substantially decrease the number of lamps
that would otherwise be needed and reduce labor costs for sheet metal work and
wiring. Not only do extra-longs lower cost by reducing the number of ballasts
and sockets that need to be installed and maintained but they also simplify maintenance
and offer better performance.
We recommend using U-lamps when
signage will be used to increase your profit making opportunity on the sign as
well as to improve illumination. Our One
TUFBEND® U-lamp offers cost savings by doing the work of two short straight
lamps and result in fewer ballasts and sockets that must be purchased and
installed. The enhanced illumination is
a result of lamp ends being only inches apart in one raceway, not separated by
feet. Single-ended lamp support also means
less raceway work.
Another advantage to U-lamps is that
they are ideal in tricky lighting situations.
For example, regardless of configuration, they can provide illumination on
any non-rectangular or odd-shaped frame such as a cowboy’s hat, a torch, an
odd-shaped letter or a giant cactus.
