The AMLCD backlight technology requires custom optical light sources, filters and diffusers along with mechanical innovations such as reflective plates, trays and housing.  Avionics, Vetronics and Shipboard AMLCD displays demand high brightness lamps that are uniformly dimmable, diffusible and extremely reliable.  In larger displays and those with information density, the performance and backlighting requirements are increased.  This is why LCD Lighting’s HCFL’s (hot-cathode fluorescent lamps) offer cost-effective solutions for the air and space industry.
