Customize Your Fluorescent Lamp’s Color

We know that color can play an important role in your application requirements, which is why we offer LCDL’s proprietary color rendering (CRI) with more rare earth tri-phosphors.  This allows us to provide our customers with true and natural colors that are unmatched by our competitors.  Our standard phosphors are available in a wide range of cool white, warm white, daylight, blue, green, red, ultraviolet, infrared, and tri-band.   Also we will blend our standard phosphors to match your exact color requirements within the visible spectrum.

The Color Rendering Index (CRI) is used to describe how well a light source effectively renders colors. Using a numerical system, the CRI rates the "color rendering" ability of fluorescent light in comparison with natural daylight. Lamps with a low index of 50 do not render colors well, and lamps with a color rendering index of 80-95 are consider good to excellent.  Natural daylight has a color index of 100 and is assigned to sunlight.

While we commonly hear from customers that is does not matter what color the light is as long as it is white, our vast experience has taught us that a slight variation in color can make a big difference in many applications.  This is why LCD Lighting offers more than 100 different ‘shades of white’ to choose from.  On our website you will find the 1976 C.I.E. U.C.S Chromaticity Diagram to help choose the best color for your application.  Keep in mind if we do not already have an existing phosphor that matches your needs, we can create a custom blend for you.
