LightSources’ affiliate, LCD Lighting (LCDL) is the leader in designing, engineering and manufacturing customized backlighting for LCD and AMLCD displays.  Our miniature lamps are used in military and civilian aircrafts, shipboards, and vehicles as well as in vetronics, and computers.  We are especially proud of the fact that our avionic display backlighting is used in the U.S. Space Program and the defense of our country.

The miniature lamps used in avionic displays and cabin backlighting generally require a multiple bend lamp configuration.  These specialty lamps are used in backlight liquid crystal displays (LCD), indirect cabin lighting, passenger and crew reading lights, galley and lavatory lighting, entry lighting, cockpit applications, cargo areas, wing inspection lights, exterior emergency lighting, landing lights and many other locations.  Furthermore, we are the long-standing partner and the sole manufacturer of miniature AMLCD backlight lamps used in the cockpit of the Boeing 777 passenger jet.   

LCDL also designs and manufactures active matrix liquid crystal displays (AMLCD) used in military vehicles.  Our innovative technology combines lightweight, efficient power use with an extremely reliable performance.  AMLCDs are used in flat panel displays, display equipment and prototype equipment.
